Welcome to the Where is Barry? American Cancer Society Fundraiser Homepage!

Barry

Where is Barry? is a unique fundraiser, organized to benefit the fight against cancer. Barry Gromada, the driving force behind this event, has pledged to ride his bike around Youngstown and the tri-county area for 24 hours in a profound statement against cancer!

Barry created this event with the memory of his Wife’s Mother, Bobbi in mind - who lost her battle to cancer in 1989. This 24 hour bike event is designed to celebrate survivorship, remember our loved ones, and raise money to support research and programs sponsored by The American Cancer Society. It represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported in their fight and that one day, cancer will be eliminated. This event is not only a fundraiser, but an activity that offers the opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer; it is about a community that agrees to take up the fight.

The event will take place July 27-28, 2007 with a starting and finishing point in front of the Federal Plaza Building (formerly the Pharmor Building) in Downtown Youngstown between Market St and Phelps St.

There will be two designated times for riders to join Barry in his profound statement against cancer; One for Adults as well as a designated time for Youth.

  • The open Adult bike ride will be held from 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 27th in Downtown Youngstown.
  • The open Youth bike ride will be the final hour of the event from 9:00 -10:00 a.m. on Saturday July, 28th in Downtown Youngstown.
